Growing 7-12 feet tall with a bright light green trunk, it bears firm, very sweet fruit that combines apple-like flavour with a refreshing lemony aroma. This versatile banana can be used for cooking when green or enjoyed fresh when ripe. Its sturdy stem and strong plant structure enable heavy crops even in dry, poor soils where other varieties falter. Highly resistant to disease and wind, Sweetheart is an expert favourite for challenging growing conditions.
