The Empeltre olive tree, also known as Aragonesa or Terra Alta, is a vigorous Catalonian variety prized for its exceptional productivity and adaptability. This upright cultivar develops a dense crown and produces abundant new growth annually. Its medium-small, elongated oval fruits mature to deep black with characteristic freckling and yield an impressive 21-23% oil content. Beyond oil production, Empeltre olives are excellent for table use. The variety demonstrates remarkable resilience, tolerating diverse microclimates, freezes, and drought conditions with ease.
